Just submitted this piece to the printers! Promotional poster for New Year's Eve annual event Hayride To Hell. For this particular piece, the client is a big antiques buff and really likes early 20th century furniture, art, and antiques in his home. The event includes 3 live bands, a DJ, plus 4 burlesque performers. Another parameter of the job was that color photos of the performers had to be included. His idea (got to give credit where it's due), is to have some sort of playing card motif sparked by some Las Vegas memorabilia that I have in my home. That got the creative juices flowing, and the final design includes the playing card motif, some woodcut-style typesetting and graphics, a vintage microphone and some distressed patterns and gradients for a background.
